Lil' Chippy Socks

I have had the honor of test driving a long awaited sock pattern by Lynn Hershberger. Last year Lynn had knitted some very cute socks for a young friend. They were multi-colored socks. Each one was different, but used the same colorway. I immediately thought of T, my nieces and nephews. Just this month I received an email from Lynn asking if I would help test her pattern.

She is right. The Chippy Socks for Kids are like potato chips, you can't just knit one! And every time I started a new sock I would think that this was my favorite version of her pattern. Each one is unique. I love that a kid can just pick any two and they go together. And as a mom, if one gets lost, the remainders will still match. (I admit I buy many pairs of socks in the same color in hopes that in a few months there may still be a matching pair. :-)

The yarn, Debbie Bliss Rialto, given to me for the testing period was amazing! It was springy and squooshy. Who would have thought that merino wool could be that way? In some ways it reminded me of cotton because of the weight, but it was soft. The fact that it was machine washable was a bonus.

I can't wait till I get a chance to knit a set for T. I am thinking of using the colors in Rainbow Sherbet for her.

I'm so delighted, you can't know. They turned out just great. And if your child wants a set, I'm even happier.

Thanks for being on my team. I appreciate you.

Just came over from the Yarn Harlot comments page. You win the prize (if I had one) for most wildly amusing play on words name. I just had to come over and (virtually) shake your hand.

Have a knitterly summer - see you in blogland!
