"It looks like a dust ball!"

"It looks like a dust ball!" said my son as he snuck across the room with Mo's new kitten. Meet Lavender, she is actually much smaller than she appears. She is very fluffy. Zoe likes the little kitten and Stella can't believe we felt the need to bring in another cat.

(I tried to take a good picture of her, but she moves too fast. The other pictures were a blur of grey.)

Girl's way too cute hat

The shoe button is from Great Grandma Ram-niss' button collection. The hat is Button Band Hat by Kathleen Taylor. It is an adult size pattern but I changed to smaller needles and then followed her instructions and it worked out great. I didn't shorten it because I wanted it to protect little ones ears.

Many more in the works in various colors for little people.

Last week during our monthly guild meeting, Cindy talked about embellishments. I have never really tried any before. I usually knit, seam, and send it on it's way. For practice during the meeting I did a tiny embroidery with one of the preemie sweaters. The little lesson gave me the little push I needed to start putting a little extra on the knitted items.

Lots of little projects

I can't believe that it has been so long since I have written!

I had stopped knitting socks and have been knitting preemie items for one of the charity collections from the Mid-Michigan Knitting Guild. I had to stop myself, I wasn't getting much else knitted. Those little items are very addicting. Now I have a lot of buttons to attach.

I also received a huge box of yarn so I can get started on my Christmas knitting for my nieces and nephews. Siblings, you may want to avoid this blog for the next few months... Honestly, with all of the toy recalls, it has me concerned about gifts this upcoming holiday season. Knitted items haven't been recalled, so I am working on several cool sets for my nieces and nephews. I was going to give T her items at Christmas, but realized that I needed her to try items for sizing. So she is a willing participant.
